110 Sandy Haven Dr.
We are a group of professional and highly skilled seamstresses, living in East Toronto, who found ourselves out of jobs when COVID-19 hit.
Our friend, Jie Tisdall, who is a graduate from George Brown College fashion design program, told us about the campaign for 1000 masks a week for Michael Garron Hospital. We saw an opportunity to use our skills to help our brave healthcare workers and joined the call.
As the voice for our group, Jie soon met Michelle Oliveira who was starting a Toronto chapter of Homemade Masks for Hometown Heroes. This Toronto chapter has transformed into https://www.sewforto.ca where we are helping to produce over 400 masks and 300 caps a week and have helped fill orders for 18,000 non-PPE(masks, caps, and extenders) since April 1st.
We are now happy to partner with Jie to start Popular Sewing Toronto to serve the workforce and source material from local textile distributors and sew YOUR masks locally.
We truly APPRECIATE that you value our skills as seamstresses - thank you!
